No budget for them and no plan and they are not even flying the ones they have and more are being delivered.

Buy now, pay later with taxpayer dollars.

Border agency overextended on drone program - Washington Times
The Homeland Security Department ordered so many drones it can’t keep them all flying and doesn’t have a good plan for how to use them, according to a new audit the department’s inspector general released Monday.
..
Underscoring the ad hoc approach, the agency doesn’t have a dedicated budget for running drones, and has had to siphon money from other areas to keep the program afloat. Investigators said the budget woes mean future missions may have to be scrapped — yet the underfunded fleet continues to grow.

Drones for foreign borders are more important than our own.

Those Army surplus stores better start acquiring more land, unless they can break down those drones to fit in a box

Drones are expensive and creepy- They can eventually be used to monitor or attack unsavory citizens that the powers that be find irritating...Yes Americans are well armed and shooting these things down if used against their own citizens is not plausible. I can see it now- Like some sci-fi movie...like Total Recall....You fire the deer rifle at one of these machines and run for you life- cos these things can seek out a dab of human heat from a mile away and make you a pile of ashes - There is just no escaping these high tech devices....also- They are a cowardly remote control weapon- some little girly man who could not take you in a bar fight- sits eating a burger and presses a button and you are gone- just so aggressively Orwellian.

Makes it so much easier...you're just a red dot on a screen to the guy holding the remote control.

Well this is the Border Control agency with 10.

There are 30K on order for local LEs. I would imagine the EPA will make full use of theirs and have them flying 24/7/365.
