What a surprise.

The increased permits were approved before Obama took office...by the Bush administration. New permits are actually down since Obama has taken office.

Part of the reason for the increased prices earlier this year was the speculators' concern that the US and/or Israel would start a conflict with Iran and that Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz. The reason the oil prices droppped? Worse economic news, but also less concern that there would be a conflict with Iran

When OBAMA HIMSELF said presidents are responsible, then why shouldnt people hold him responsible?

For what? The boom is taking place on private land, outside of the jursidiction of the federal government.

Another example of liberals trying to give Obama credit for something he had nothing to do with.

This supports my first point. Sorry, I'm not sure I get your drift.

Oh, I wasn't trying to contradict you. I was just trying to expand on your post.

Obviously if BO was as anti-oil as some people claim, then he would have seen to is that any kind of oil boom would never take place on his watch, but it did. And the industry holds some 7000 permits for public lands which they are not even using.

I remember in '97 when gas was 85 cents a gallon in Georgia...crossed over into Florida and it was $1.09....

Lower gas prices could serve as stimulus - Jun. 15, 2012
I have kept receipts of my gas purchases since January. Big whoop that the prices have fallen 40 cents since April, they still haven't gone below what they were in January. All we did was get ripped off badly for awhile and now we are just being ripped off, still.

I'll give credit when the damn prices go below $2.00 again. Until then, all politicians are held responsible, in my eyes.
