Surely not, at all. Well maybe that is wrong since he allows drilling on private land inside our boundaries and that is where all that fracking is taking place. Naw, I don't think I will give Obama or Chu any credit for it.
The price of oil also depends on conflicts that may be going on in oil-producing areas, like Nigeria. "Even" OPEC pricing is BS? The cartel was formed for the very purpose of arbitrary pricing. That's what cartels do. Control supply, and price their product however they want to their benefit.
Part of the reason for the increased prices earlier this year was the speculators' concern that the US and/or Israel would start a conflict with Iran and that Iran would close the Strait of Hormuz. The reason the oil prices droppped? Worse economic news, but also less concern that there would be a conflict with Iran

This supports my first point. Sorry, I'm not sure I get your drift.
Are you giving Obama credit for facilitating the oil patch boom?
Obviously if BO was as anti-oil as some people claim, then he would have seen to is that any kind of oil boom would never take place on his watch, but it did. And the industry holds some 7000 permits for public lands which they are not even using.
I have kept receipts of my gas purchases since January. Big whoop that the prices have fallen 40 cents since April, they still haven't gone below what they were in January. All we did was get ripped off badly for awhile and now we are just being ripped off, still.
I'll give credit when the damn prices go below $2.00 again. Until then, all politicians are held responsible, in my eyes.
