That is not totally true. A pastor or minster can have part of their income designated as a housing allowance and not have to pay taxes on it.

They don't pay FICA on part of it - IF they are able to prove it. They do, however, have to add it back in a pay the full 15+% Social Security tax on it. They are employees, for FICA, but self-employed for Social Security purposes. In reality, their taxes are complicated and - for the most part - end up costing them more than the normal person pays.

Also, because of past problems, clergy are targeted for audits at a disproportionately high rate. On one hand, much deserved. On the other, a royal pain in the butt for those who are honestly trying to do it right.

By the way, one of the things I do is tax preparation...

Really? It's not called the Dark Ages?

Wow! Next you'll be telling me crazy things like the Earth really didn't pop out of thin air 6000 years ago, and King Soloman really didn't ride Dinosaurs into battle.

Call me strange, but something tells me that I just MIGHT be better off getting my history from someone other than a religious nut case.

No it wasnt. The Dark Ages was due to the collapse of the Western Roman Empire and had nothing at all to do with church rule.. Stop being ignorant..

Actually, what I'm going to do is the same thing several other people here are encouraging you to do: GET AN EDUCATION ABOUT HISTORY.

Did The Dark Ages exist? Yes, absolutely. For the reasons you claim? Pfffttt... Not even close!

Wow. That makes absolutely no sense at all. None.

The Collapse of the Roman Empire led to a complete dissolution of empire-wide infrastructure. Broader systems were replaced by Feudalism, and little regional "warlords" replaced an emperor.

Clearly, you have ABSOLUTELY NO CLUE why the Dark Ages came to be.

You do realize, don't you, that you are making a COMPLETE fool of yourself?
