I'm guessing that little bow is just the President's way of showing a little respect to another leader. Only someone with a HUGE inferior complex would have the least problem with that.
I mean, just how petty can you get. You can get pretty dang bad that's for sure.
Just think about it for a minute. Here you have the most powerful politician in the world. He knows it and so does everyone he meets. His little bow is saying." Hey, I realize you are a big deal in your country. I'm showing respect for both you and the position you have".
There is no possible way that this diminishes the power or the influence of the president. It may though, create a respect back for Obama the man which will translate into better outcomes for US interests all over the world.
Do you realize that Stalin was known to be a charming and friendly host. He treated his visitors with the utmost care and he appeared as a quiet a humble man. He spoke in a quiet voice and when he spoke you had better believe those listening paid attention.
It diminishes the status of the United States, it is a symbolic apology every time our President bows to heads of state like Mexico, and China, and Saudi Arabia. They are at the very least deserving of a handshake, but that's all, no other recognition such as a bow, or a nod of the head to allow photographers to snap a photo of our president showing off the nearly bald spot on the top of his head to other heads of state for inspection.
I doubt Stalin bowed his mustachioed face to any foreign head of state.
No foreign head of state nods, or bows when they meet Obama, except Obama. No other US President has done it except Obama.
I might give him a pass when he meets a female head of state, but that's all. A man in power doesn't bow to another man in power, it's a sign of submission. Then again, he was raised in a muslim environment and we all know that the translation of Islam means... (Submission). Which is why I pondered if it was his upbringing in Indonesia which motivates him to bow his head when he meets these foreign heads of state.
If his geeks in charge of Protocol at the State Department are telling him to bow or deeply NOD his head when he meets foreign heads of state, why had not any other President before him done that?

only a delusional qwack believes this. Bush bowed to the head of Saudi Arabia after 911 happened, yet no one did anything to chastise him about it. This is the country that 16 of the 19 terrorists came from.
Did that make US look "weak" or diminish the Status of the US? Well, it didn't under Bush, so why would it under Obama?
Have you ever spoken to someone shorter than you, have a good laugh, but had to bow slightly to hear him/her if she/he said something too quiet in a noisy room? Or in a noisy public area?
Again, anyone who thinks that was a bow, is seriously in need of an eye exam.
And its the job of the US and our leaders, to be courteous to anyone who is the Head of State in any country. Even if its a country we have estranged or difficult relationships with. IT MAKES US the bigger "person" so to say, since we are telling EVERYONE that despite our differences, we are still able to have a laugh with or speak to each other in a civil matter.
anyone who thinks that being courteous to foreign leaders is a sign of weakness needs to take an Etiquette class.

As bad as Fast and Furious was, quit pretending the drug cartels were walking around with muskets prior to it. They'd have the type of weapons they have with or without the operation. Isn't the anti-gun control's whole deal about how gun policies make no difference and criminals will have guns no matter what?
