I'm a librarian. I've spoken with and discussed this book with many hundreds of teenagers in book groups and during readers advisories since it came out in 2008. Their parents might bring up the politics, the kids are only interested in Katniss kicking a$$.

I personally think that most of the subminal messages are lost on the general public. I seriously doubt the average Hunger Games fan is aware of the politcal connotations in the film
Link? What I'm asking for are a comparison of the odds of winning the lottery, vs individual achievement leading to wealth. Thanks in advance and I look forward to your deflections: I'm expecting something creative.
Give me your definition of real wealth and I will compare the numbers and the odds.
Hollywood hasn't gotten a dime of mine in at least 8 years. Haven't seen the movies and have no interest in seeing them. What is going on in the real world is much more important.
All hollywood has done is churn out remake after remake the last few years from what I see. I don't know if there are any movies left to remake. My kids read all the hunger game books and I told em to skip the movie because it won't be as good and they had to go anyway and came back bellowing how it sucked. lol

Next please.
That's my point, kids, and even many adults don't get or care about subtle messages. If it's not spelled out, it goes over their head.

That is because they are kids and adults that don't know much about history. Many people will "get it" if they know about Rome or ancient times were human sacrifices were common.
My son took drama in school and the teacher told him there are only so many stories to tell and they are told over and over again. Humans are not that complicated, I guess. What I get tired of is the same actors doing the same movie over and over again. If Harrison Ford is in a new movie I tell my hubby "we saw it before" because it's all about the same topic.
