Well it didn't take long....

Morsi to reconsider pact with Israel and create ties with Iran.
And we're still going to give them $1.5 billion per year for their army ?

Egypt's Islamist president-elect, Mohamed Morsi, wants to "reconsider" the peace deal with Israel and build ties with Iran to "create a strategic balance" in the Middle East, according to an interview published by Iran's Fars news agency on Monday.

After all the parties die down and after all the Islamic rhetoric becomes background noise what has the MB inherited? a poor country thats now a net importer of resources since the only thing thay had in excess was LNG. And since they decided to rattle the sword at Israel who was paying for 50% of that LNG and moved it to zero, they've become a welfare state. The investors are leaving in droves. The tourists have all cancelled their visits. Universites have suspended their connections for now. If they lose the $1.5 Billion it gets from the US, it will become the next Greece. They think that other Arab countries will come to their rescue. But lets be realistic, numerous Arab countries have pledged money in the past but few have actually sent the money. They are a paper tiger.

It might. But it will have no effect on this country, unless we make the mistake of meddling just like we always do.

That was sooooo Obama.
Are you seriously suggesting that Bush would've intervened militarily to prop up Mubarak? Do you have any evidence whatsoever for believing this?

Ummm ... did you even read the article? Those comments was taken from the official Iranian news agency, Fars, and was quickly disavowed by Morsi's spokesman who stated Fars never even interviewed Morsi.

Who knows? Maybe Bush would have started a war in Egypt to keep Mubarak. He seems to like starting wars.

Bush touts Arab spring, says US can't fear freedom - Yahoo! News

Bush praises the Arab Spring.

Condi Rice:

Quote:
The demise of repressive governments in Tunisia, Egypt and elsewhere during this year’s “Arab spring,” she says, stemmed in part from Bush’s “freedom agenda,” which promoted democracy in the Middle East. “The change in the conversation about the Middle East, where people now routinely talk about democratization is something that I’m very grateful for and I think we had a role in that,”
