Dude, seriously? You trust the fed to "not spend a penny more on health care than it collects in taxes"?? Seriously??
What would happen to grandma, again, if Medicare spending were dropped to about $200B? You guys had an interesting slogan a couple of years ago. If $50B in potential reductions via addressing fraud and duplicity was going to do that, what would y'all be screaming if that reduction was several times as much, and on actual services?
So for every person forced to get insurance , even when they are healthy in their younger years will have to pay a premium to cover a person who gets the coverage free. So who wants to work for everyone else to get freebees and they don't even have to work ?
Everybody who has health insurance now pays a premium for every uninsured person who needs care and can't pay for it.
Everybody who has health insurance now pays a premium for every uninsured person who needs care and can't pay for it.
And what do you think will happen to those premiums when people figure out it's cheaper to just pay the penalty and only get insurance when something bad happens since pre-existing clauses have been outlawed?
Young people like me are already subsidizing old people's (like you?) Medicare and Medicaid coverage. We're also subsidizing "free loaders".
********* dude.
What is your grief with Medicare & Medicaid? Isn't that what you try to achieve? Government paid healthcare? How dare you diss the people that pay into it?

Reason: flaming
The nanny states like mine, CA, won't be able to afford to nanny much longer. The medicaid roles are expanding 300%, from 9 million to over 12. This is going to kill grandma. What is it going to do for the truly disabled? The smart people with money have already left this state. Look up your state on this graph. Obamacare: Impact on States
Texas at 56% increase, NJ 43% Florida 43%. This is going to bring healthcare costs way up!
