That plank is better than one they had 8 years ago. It pretty much said if a person's behavior offends your religious conviction, you can kill them and it won't be a crime.
Having been a delegate to my senatorial district convention many times, all i can say is saner folks need to go to their precinct meetings and serve on the platform committee.
Some of this is scary.
So you brought up something they decided 8 years ago.
How much of it really gets put into law and practice ?

They got so much criticism, they left it out. Usually, it is just repeated year after year. The elected ignore it. My question is why have it, if the politicians say out loud to ignore it.

Well why does any group meet, make a bunch of "rules" and think they are all that ? Then they all slink away for another year. Ego maybe ?
I know the GOP is all about believing the Good Book and not asking inconvenient questions, but would they really take it that far? Sounds like the friggin' Taliban.
Since 2008, the price of gold has more than doubled, which means if the dollar had been pegged to the price of gold in 2008, everything from bread to automobiles would have doubled in price at the exact same time the country was spiraling into recession.
First, this assumes the price of gold will still have doubled if we were on the gold standard. If the dollar is pegged to gold, gold's dollar value remains the same.. Secondly, this would mean the dollar may well have approximately doubled in value against other currencies not pegged to the gold standard. This means you can buy twice as much imported goods as previous, all other things being equal. When your currency doubles in value against other currencies prices decrease.
If a dollar is pegged to gold, gold does not fluctuate against the dollar. No doubling of prices from everything from bread to automobiles, cheaper imported goods, the drawback is goods for export are more expensive.
I mean I understand that Republicans generally have problems reading and comprehending things, but the blog post provides plenty of links... including to the austin chronicle which leads to this:
Was there critical thinking in Texas to begin with. Drum roll.
