How is Linda R. protesting a racist sheriff even vaguely similar to Jane Fonda going to Hanoi?
Or are you just intimidated by woman that have strong convictions?

Probably not ^^^ just those that think the enemy is our friend or those that think illegals should break our laws...............
hanoi jane is nothing more than a benedict arnold, a quisling, nothing more.
Wow. Obviously you don't know what Benedict Arnold or Quisling did!
I was serving at that time, and I was able to forgive her after the war. I was able to forgive all the others who caused my generation to split in half forever afterwards, too, even though some of them did not deserve forgiveness.
What the hell? Jane Fonda was young and foolish at a time when a lot of other people the same age were just as young and just as foolish. All sides were wrong during 'Nam, and there is no righteousness to be found in that miserable mistake. It needs to be remembered, all of it, as a reminder of a society grown so stupidly arrogant we thought we could change others before we changed ourselves first.

Maybe Jane Fonda was smart enough to know just because war mongers decide to loose the dogs of war, everyone doesn't have to be an Idiot and believe them.
I revel in the teeth gnashing her success causes the "patriots" in their arm chairs.
Protesting the Vietnam War? Forgivable. In retrospect, even honorable if directed solely at the policy makers and not the young soldiers who answered the call to duty.
Siding with the enemy during a war? That's harder to forgive. Especially since, as recently as 2005, she expressed regret only for being photographed peering through the sights of the NVA anti-aircraft machine and continued to defend everything she did in Hanoi (i.e. willingly act as a shill for the North Vietnamese propaganda machine). She didn't just criticize her own government, she heaped praised on the North Vietnamese government. Her words and actions were an inspiration to the enemy with whom our soldiers were still engaged in combat. Regardless of one's thoughts on the righteousness or lack-thereof of our own government, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam was not an honorable government worthy of such support.
Repudiating returning POW's claims that they were tortured, calling them "hypocrites and liars," and "military careerists and professional killers trying to make themselves look self-righteous" is unforgivable. Ever. The damn ***** was the guest of honor for a few meticulously choreographed dog-and-pony shows. She has no idea WTF was really happening to those prisoners for the months and years they were held captive before and after she was there.
