Seriously doubt that any State will opt out of the Medicaid expansion. The repub leaders aren't that dumb, even though they think their followers are.

obamacare is such a great deal. So much so that 1,168 waivers have been granted. All to obama cronies.

Here is where you went wrong, "As a liberal......................"

Our state is planning to "opt out". I would think that nearly all the "provider states" would do so and the "beggar states" would not.

Even with the presumed "assurances" of federal payments, this is a bad financial load for states. The states are, in the absence of secession, part of the US. Obamacare is a MASSIVE, EXPENSIVE federal program that the US cannot afford.

Be patient- it will be thrown out in 2013.

oh come on now, having no idea what the HHS rules are is no excuse anymore. But as to whether States will opt out ...

The Affordable Care Act’s big giveaway to stingy red states

This coming from one who lives in a state whose governor has vowed to opt out.

What a narrow little world Bob lives in.

And yet, even from your own words, you prove mine. Like I said before, this mandate is only funded for the first two years. States already can't afford their current Medicaid programs. What is going to help them afford this mandate in two years? Because the Federal gov't is funding some of it? That still means it's unfunded when those funds are expected to be realized by the States. Just in case you didn't know but a mandate that does not have funds behind it to pay for it is unfunded, no matter if it's fully or partial, it's still unfunded.
