Now you tell me that isn't politically motivated.

You're missing my point, you don't build a fifty foot wall to avoid this in the future. You might for example want to take reasonable precautions like having a water proof generators or house them in tsunami proof building -or- you could have generators available off site -or- if country like the US offers to fly them there immediately you might want to take them up on their offer.

Getting back to th topic you don't run around like the sky is falling just because one study suggests there (maybe-might-possibly) be an increase in the sea level rise especially when there is others studies that say otherwise base on current and historical data.
One study says sea level is rising? A study is hardly needed when measurements confirm that it IS rising Mr. coalman.

Reading comprehension is fundamental.

NOAA indicates seas are rising.

I haven't suggested otherwise, the discussion here is about acceleration or deceleration of the rise. In the case of Wimington NC it's decelerating at least over the last 5 or 6 years:

As more data are collected at water level stations, the linear mean sea level trends can be recalculated each year. The figure compares linear mean sea level trends and 95% confidence intervals calculated with data beginning from a common year and ending in each year since 2006. The values do not indicate the trend in each year, but the trend of the entire data period up to that year.

Land movement can have an effect and that is proabaly the reason it's going down in Crescent City, CA.

You can look at any graph on that site and the one thing you will find whether it's going up or down is a steady and predictable rate that it's rising or falling. The Battery NY probably has the longest data:

There the rise is accelerating:

however it's in a upward trend and historically this is not something new:

Quote:
inear mean sea level trends were calculated in overlapping 50-year increments for stations with sufficient historical data. The variability of each 50-year trend, with 95% confidence interval, is plotted against the mid-year of each 50-year period. The solid horizontal line represents the linear mean sea level trend using the entire period of record.

Truth is there is far too much development in coastal and flood plain that should be prohibited, guess who is paying for the downside?

And who is denying that the shore line is disappearing?

You should find a source more credible than the idiots in the OP video. Maybe like some facts.

Plate tectonics and volcanic activity along coastal mass, adds more land mass. This displaces water to a new level elsewhere.

The earth is not stagnant, it is dynamic.
