As a rule, language evolves, and words meanings are demotic in nature. With that in mind, 'liberal' today translates to 'socialist' or even better, 'collectivist.'
Until roughly the time of FDR, there was a fairly strong socialist presence in US politics, with people like Eugene Debs openly labeling themselves as socialist. FDR's genius was to realize that socialism was not and would never be popular among Americans, so he rebranded it as 'liberalism.'
It's all largely a waste of time. It's pretty simple. Liberals want decisions made at the collective level whenever possible. Conservatives want decisions left in the hands of the individual whenever possible.
And that is because the liberals can't think for themselves so they want the government to tell them what to do. Their freedom means nothing because the are fine with big government taking over.
A liberal is a person who will tell you how you're supposed to live, and spend your money to make it happen, while living like a Republican with their own money.

Dude... you can't even demonstrate proper command of your own native tongue, and your idea of stripping about half of this country's citizens of fundamental voting rights is..."special", to say the least.
So maybe you should just sit out the discussion on what is and isn't stupid.
