How sad it is to see someone who's skeptical of good-will & respect. Keep being miserable...

I will give him the benefit of the doubt on this one as many people have mellowed on the topic over the years, some of my relatives for example.
Sharpton is a pastor.
He should be removed from religious office for accepting gays.

Not all denominations are anti-gay.
YOU don't get to tell other religious denominations what they have to believe.

So, there is one church in the united states or is it they all agree on that specific topic that prompts this post?

I'm just trying to figure out the thinking that lead to this this post as you lost me completely unless you are making a joke I missed.

If your willing to overlook Sharpton's stance on gays, then you better be willing to accept all of those people who have changed their minds, over one thing or another, because after all, as you say.

Is it too difficult to understand that some people do change their minds?

While I have defended Sharpton as seeming sincere in his change from 18+ years ago.....I think that calling someone skeptical of Al Sharptons true motivations "miserable" hasn't followed his track record.

It's hard to overlook some of his past actions and comments and give him ones full trust.

I hope he is being sincere seeing as how his "constituency" has a brutal track record vs. gays with a hate crime rate vs. gays around 5x the national average.

Most black people are now open to homosexual sex. It's 2012, not 1994.

The times are a changing.

Is that why they have 5x the national average of hate-crimes vs. gays?

Sorry, I think progress on this front has been much slower than you would think. There are many reasons why, probably in large part to the myth in the US that you get some sort of "free pass" for racism and homophobia if you are part of a minority group. (Or at least vastly reduced penalties for transgressions)

IN fairness, Sharpton has said some things longer ago than that.....that I will never forgive him for.

Check out the "record store arson" murders he incited with false cries of racism, anti-semitism etc.
