Just wondering.... but why don't we just legalize pot and put a tax (like with cigarettes) and then put that money into a pool for those who don't have coverage?

You leave medicaid alone, raise the age for medicare by a few years (given longer life expectancy) and leave peoples private plans alone.

This would be to extend coverage for those who don't have coverage.

This way, everyone wins.... pot is legalized, making the left and Libertarians happy and the ones who complain about being forced to buy healthcare and taxes going up (mostly the right) would not be affected since buying weed is not compulsory... it is a choice

Pretty simple

Because the politicians would see that pool of tax money and steal it to use on something else to get themselves elected like they will do with the current obamacare pool, like they've done with social security and on and on. If they were eliminated from the equation something might possibly turn out working the way it was intended.

I am curious.... how is it that alcohol is legal and pot is legal?

How is it that America cannot find a better way to fix its healthcare system?

These are good questions that are politicians have no clue how to answer..... or maybe they DO have a clue, but their special interests will not allow them to answer

If it were a national lottery under consideration, the same jack asses in DC would still redirect the funds raised to their own electioneering efforts.

The problems isn't raising money.

The problem is spending and misuse of existing revenue.

Sounds good to me. I don't smoke pot anymore but don't have a problem with anyone who does, since most people I know smoke. It's just stupid not to legalize it.

I have heard so many outlandish claims made about marijuana in this forum; however, it being the savior of health care is the first time I've heard this one.

Kudos on your originality...
