Let us assume that Obama is re-elected (highly unlikely) and we are in 2016, poised to elect a new president again.

Would you admit that Obama failed if

1. The national debt continues to rise and reaches $22 trillion, a debt which would probably assure the financial ruin of the nation?

2. continued annual deficits of $ 1.3 trillion?

3. unemployment rates above 8% or higher?

4. continued decline in personal incomes?

5. continued decline in personal wealth?

6. much higher taxes FOR YOU, not just the rich?

7. Being unemployed as a result of Obama's policies?

8. Paying much higher electricity and energy costs due to Obama's policies?

9. A middle east war due to Obama's failure to contain Iran?

10. None of the above- I love Obama regardless of what he does for (or to) the nation

Not exactly a liberal, but I will probably vote for Obama.

The thing he's done that's closest to failure in my book has been to escalate the war in Afghanistan. But if McCain were president, we'd probably be have been in wars with half a dozen countries by this time.

If he ever shows that he is a failure, I would call him that. But obviously he won't do anything that results in failure, so the thread point is .... pointless.

A horrible economy got Bush that title for years after his term left. Yet, Obama, with a worse economy 3 years after the end of the recession, is a rousing success?

It really is a mental illness. But I get it - it's really hard to admit that your emperor has no cloths.

First of all, Obama will be elected again, Romney is a joke. Has he been a great President? Absolutely not. But, McCain was never an option for me. Personally, I don't think there's anyone out there that can get us back on track. They all say what the people want to hear, but once they're in office, the people who own them start making the rules. I find politics in the US sickening, and the public discourse even worse.

You do realize that half of Bush's hole has been filled, right? That, in spite of the GOP refusal to help.

I guess, for me, it would be if Mr. Romney wins the presidency and, within the span of his first term, he achieves many of the desired results we all wish for (low unemployment, peace with Iran, etc).

Will conservatives admit Romney was a failure as gov. being 4th from the bottom in state job creation? Not a hypothetical.

The debt is largely the fault of Republicans in Congress who refused to moderately raise the tax rates on those earning more than $250K per year.

That was by far the biggest factor in increasing the debt. As seen in this graph http://leisureguy.files.wordpress.co...rev21710f1.jpg

Unemployment will become largely worse as it has in Spain and Greece if the GOP plan of cutting government spending during an economic downturn gets enacted.

Obama has been horrible in warmongering, law breaking, civil liberties but the GOP alternative will cut Social security and other middle class benefits, increase unemployment just so the rich can keep their Bush tax cuts.

You've got to be severely impaired to vote GOP.
