the administration is doing nothing of the sort, but what they are doing is beyond stupid:
The US is clinging to a controversial policy of training local Afghan militias to carry on the task of keeping order beyond the 2014 date for withdrawal of foreign troops. But the armed gangs are not winning hearts and minds and US support may be laying the groundwork for civil war in Afghanistan.

Bring our servicemen and women home now. There is nothing and no one in Afganistan worth he life of another military service person. If the Afgani people want a 13th century culture, leave it to them. Not our job to make the world play nice.

It's funny how the roles have changed. Used to be the conservatives who "supported the military" and defended the war and the liberals who were pacifists and said to bring them home; now I guess it's more the liberals who "support the military" and defend the war while the conservatives are the pacifists who want to bring them home.
Funny what the change of political party in the Oval Office can bring people to say.

Odd thing the tapes we have of him from 2008 he stated, his words, my first order of business, will see to it that our 1st set of troops will be coming home in 6 months. Then more to follow. Really now?

I say we bring every freaking troop that we have there, home now. I care about those serving, and yes the sacrifices they make.

No outrage from a lot of people, actually. Whatever statements 'for' or 'against' the war have been made and there is only so many times one can say RIPbefore it becomes just another phrase like, "Have a Nice Day!"
