I would trade the worthless heterosexual parents that I had for a decent set of gay parents that didn't beat me into unconsciousness on multiple occasions as a child.

This is what we should really be concerned about--whether a home is healthy or abusive, not the sex of the parents.

They can't. Because then they would have to admit just how ignorant they are and that they remain ignorant on purpose. This is why hate and bigotry is so annoying it isn't innocent ignorance, it's chosen ignorance. By not even addressing your question they think they have beaten you.
Usually people that are so opposed to homosexuality are actually homosexuals themselves and it scares them. They were raised that it is unnatural, despite evidence that show it is natural, and they were taught that the bible says it is wrong. They can't admit their ancient ideologies are wrong because they fear that it will just give ammo to atheists. It will start a chain of events that disproves the bible altogether.

Nah, I never do anymore. I just ask them repeatedly so that everyone can see just who's being reasonable and who isn't... as if it's typically that hard to tell
