GM has their earnings announcement on 8/2.
Government purchases of GM vehicles is up 79% just in June alone.

Not only did we bail them out but we're now keeping them in business.
How much more stupid can we get ????

GM
We now learn that government purchases of GM vehicles rose a whopping 79% in June.
..
GM claimed that sales increases did not rely on incentive spending, which appeared to remain in check, but one analyst during GM's sales conference call questioned whether the company's "stair step" incentive spending was accurately depicted. This incentive spending kicks in after dealerships report final sales figures for the month and may be yet another deceptive way for GM to fudge its numbers.
..
The upcoming earnings announcement by GM is, politically, the most important to date. The pressure is on Government Motors to appear financially strong as this may be the last earnings report before November elections and sets the stage for how "successful" GM is.

Nope. All legal and above board. Only this time folks are reading the details before the hoopla comes out.
Remember last time GM said they paid off their government loan and it wasn't until afterwards that it was because they took out another government loan to pay it off.

Unethical, misleading, obtuse yes. But very much legal and not a criminal act.
Legal deception is allowed. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice and shame on me.

We're about to get fooled a second time come 8/2.

All of these are open bid contracts. The Feds buy fleet vehicles and GM submitted the lowest bid so what's the problem?
