I think it's absurd that Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are criticising the olympic team for purchasing jerseys made overseas. They say that we should support American businesses.

I don't believe that. I think that a true patriot supports anyone who agrees with the ideas of our founding fathers. Smaller government. More freedom in the private sector. If I were starting a business, I would definitely consider going overseas to the most business-friendly country in which to operate.

Democrats don't even understand how their bad policies negatively affect not only Americans, but other people in foreign nations.

Or, maybe they actually do...

It seems that all they care about is keeping government at a high level (with many people depending on them) because they are incapable of doing anything productive and useful other than working as a professional politician. They don't have the productive skills to make a life for themselves, so they use government force to create a livelihood.

This also applies to overseas Swiss bank accounts, etc. I trust people who manage money wisely more than people who don't understand economics.

Is it unpatriotic to award the contract to produce the Olympic uniform to an American company? Or to specify that the manufacture of the uniform design be done in America?

If you hire a contractor to remodel your kitchen do you not have the right to specify what you want and not let him do what he wants? The US Olympic Committee also hired a contractor; why should it not be allowed the same right?

Benefits and costs are not always quantifiable with dollars. Some benefits and costs are intangible and the USOC is running headlong into an intangible cost. Whether it will be more costly or not, come the next Olympics those uniforms will be American made.

If they don't like the Olympic team's uniforms being made in slave wage countries, they should not have enacted policies that made it adventitious for businesses to outsource work to these slave wage nations. You reap what you sow, and the Democrats are prime targets for the blame. Good job... If we want to compete with the Chinese, it would be much more adventitious for us to load Nancy Pelosi on a shipping container destine for China. After a few years of her politics, they will be on the verge of collapse. I honesty can't think of a single person who I find more repulsive than Nancy Pelosi...

Default Patriotism is about supporting conservative ideas, not American businesses

Like China. Of course, they're commies. But they sure love to have "American" corporations come in to build up their infrastructure and manufacturing base to take advantage of their wage slaves. That must make these "American" corporations patriotic, too.

Silly conservos...

Patriotism is about loyalty to one's country.

No wonder so many of you guys line up behind such despicable chickenhawk cowards as Limbaugh, Hannity, Beck, Nugent, and Cheney. And you aim your narrow-minded anger at your fellow Americans like we're an enemy.

Patriotism is about love of country.....and not partisan rhetoric. Conservatives would do well to remember to stop making any and everyone who does not think/believe/vote/worship/look like them the enemy

Your president is a chickenhawk. So is your VP Biden. Hell he got five deferments and was finally turned away for asthma after a stellar high school atheltic career. As for Obama who knows where the hell he was. Community organizing somewhere. Of course they have a D so get a pass to you chickenhawk squealers. lol

All you have to do to back up your bold talk is to list the wars started by Obama.

Go.
