Why should people who pay no taxes be allowed to vote at all? A person should get to vote based on how much taxes that he has to pay. An example may be, 1 vote for every 1K that you pay. You pay 15K you get 15 votes etc.

Wow! That one will, I'm sure, cure a lot of constipation among our resident Leftybots.

But in fairness, anyone who pays, or has paid, a reasonable amout ot taxes deserves one vote -- no more, no less.

But I would have no problems with:

(1) a mandatory drug test
(2) high-school diploma, or overseas equivalent for naturalized legal immigrants, required
(3) no child-support delinquency
(4) indeterminate disfranchisement for convicted felons, and permanent disfranchisement for drug-related felonies

Anybody wanna guess which party would be the loser?

Uh; taking away the vote for someone busted for marijuana is flat dumb cause booze is worse and NOT allowing a HS dropout to vote is dumb too; otherwise I agree.

At least votes that would involve government spending in any way -- why should those who don't want to work for a living be able to vote for tax increases on those who do work for a living?

Instead of restricting who votes why don't we just return to a constitutional republic where the federal government has limited and enumerated powers?

Consider that our little war on drugs has created more non-violent felons than all violent crimes combined.

One man one vote. You can't penalize a person for being stupid and income doesn't make any one person more important than the next.

What the OP proposes is that Warren Buffet should have thousands of votes, as if he's somehow a better human by virtue of his financial prowess. Talk about adding steroids to class warfare.

It might be better to remove voting rights for anyone on financial assistance, because it's a conflict of interest. Maybe then politicians wouldn't pander to the welfare class by giving them stuff for votes.

You must be kidding. Please tell me this is a joke. So, basically what you're saying is that you don't want to live in a democratic country. Right, well, here in the US we believe in democracy and that EVERYONE is entitled to vote. If you dont like the system, then please feel free to leave. We won't miss you. I'm sure a country like Iran will gladly welcome your ideals...
