Beginning January 1, 2013, ObamaCare imposes a 3.8% Medicare tax on unearned income of “high-income” taxpayers which could apply to proceeds from the sale of single family homes, townhouses, co-ops, condominiums, and even rental income, depending on your individual circumstances and any capital gains tax exclusions. Importantly, the “high income” thresholds are not indexed for inflation so will reach increasing numbers of middle-class taxpayers over time.

This new ObamaCare tax is the first time the government will apply a 3.8 percent tax on unearned income. This new tax on home sales and unearned income and other Medicare taxes raise taxes more than $210 billion to pay for ObamaCare.

The National Association of Realtors called this new Medicare tax on unearned income “destructive” and “ill-advised” and warned it would hurt job creation.

Someone posted this before. This tax only applies if your profit on selling your house is greater than 250k if you are single, and 500k if you are married. Cry me a river.

No article I've seen says that. It says it APPLIES to people making over $250,000 and that's all.

Well, you are still incorrect. Look up the other thread on this topic.

It doesn't matter in the slightest who it applies to. Obama is all about class warfare and racism. It's all he has.

Whoever thinks OCare doesn't have hidden charges or taxes is........well, dumber than the rock they live under.

Not sure how much validity can be given to a talking point review of a Law they have all said they didn't read. How does that work?

How does that make it right?

Just because it will never affect your underachieving self?
