Was the jay walking person acting strange and aggressive?

If they didn't have a taser would they have been justified in shooting him?

Tasers are being totally abused. They were never mean to be standard procedure. They should be taken away

Remember that college kid? If four burly police officers can't handle one skinny college student without using the taser then they really need to be fired because they sure as hell don't belong on the force

Actually it was worse then that, they had control of both his feet and both his arms and they still had to use the taser

Using that logic they could have taken out their guns and shot the guy in the head

Then somebody would post it here and we'd get "How many times do we have to say..."

no but they would have been justified in getting their sticks out and giving the guy a beatdown.

he resisted arrest. He would not comply with a lawful order.

He broke the law and refused to comply with the enforcement officer when confronted.

Just saying you are not resisting does not mean you are not resisting. This guy was resisting. He is lucky they had tasers and didnt pull out billy clubs and break his legs.

"dont tas me bro" needed to be tased. In fact, when they got him to the jail, they should have tased him again...they didnt.

No. Not if they can just arrest you. If they have the legal right to taser you but not arrest you... something's wrong with that, I should think.

Once again it's obvious some here didn't bother to read the entire linked article. First off, I'm posting the video of the incident below. Next post will have relevant quotes from the article.

From the linked article,...
Officers can be heard in the 10-minute video repeatedly asking Peurifoy to provide identification after they said he'd been jaywalking.

Del Rosso said asking for identification when a person is stopped is standard police procedure. It allows officers to check for outstanding warrants.
