That is a great idea. I'll have to get a few.

So you believe in charity; a woman approaches you with two kids in tow and asks you for money for crack you should give it to her?
No -- I'm just smart enough to know why people would ask for money in the first place and when you *give* money do you give it with strings attached or not? I didn't say I would give anyone money for doing nothing, but if you want to give people money that's your right.

Of course when I give there's strings, as far as my expectations of what you're going to do with the money. I don't give cash to people outside for that reason. If you say you're hungry I will offer you food. If you're cold I'll offer you a blanket or coat. But I'm not going to give you cash.

I'll donate money and clothes to a rescue mission for that reason -- but when you simply hand someone money, that money is really just a gift that you can't really control any longer. Especially someone who doesn't even look or dress like he's going to spend it wisely.

Well -- that would actually be better as far as having the true spirit of giving. You'd be giving them something they really wanted, not what you think they should want. These people aren't little children and there is nothing anywhere that says they have to live up to your expectations of them.

You either give your money to them or don't -- but once you hand them your hard earned money, it's theirs to do with as they please.
