Well, Bush Sr. and Jr. come to mind, but I think they bought their terms in office, so they probably don't fit your question.

If liberals are not willing to compromise, what do you call the Affordable Health Care Act, which was actually initially proposed by the GOP, and the Dems didn't want it? They COMPROMISED and gave the GOP what they asked for -- only to have it flung back in their faces with accusations of wanting socialism.

Please, name one example of the GOP offering anything in the last 3+ years that was designed to help ALL US citizens. I don't ask for any run downs or insults. Just one example where the GOP acted altruistically for the country.

I guess a lot of conservatives were trying to troll by voting "20th Century Soviet Union."

In any event, I voted for Sweden.

Sorry, but your poll is stupid. How about adding in some sensible options so that those who want to participate can actually have a choice.

Canada would be the best option for the United States.

1. Lower drinking age
2. Stronger central bank with better regulation of banks
3. Less debt/deficit. Conservatives there actually care about balancing a budget
4. The leader of the country actually has to stand up and debate. That would preclude idiots like Palin and Bush from running for office
5. 2x as many people going to 'university'
6. Less racism in the south parts of that country
7. Full on porn on TV late at night
8. Nobody cares or whines about gay marriage, they care about things that matter
9. A real conservative party that ins't filled with a bunch of idiots who think that the bible is the only thing that they need to study

Probably a US/German/Canada hybrid would be the best though.

20th century Soviet Union
That's cute

The list doesn't make any sense, because SU & VE suffered badly from their pasts and external factors. Put Lenin or Chavez in the White House, and things will be really different.

Sweden has a nice model of socialism, but... but... but... it's absolutely not America. Anyway, I'd vote for that, any time of a day (if I was yankie).

Either a troll or an idiot. Who equates Sweden and France with Soviet Union, or North Korea??? Seriously, this is someone who knows nothing about politics, nothing.

You mean like you?

North Korea, France and Sweden are nation-States, and note that all have been fascist at one time or another and sometimes again. The Soviet Union was a confederation.

Politically...

The "far right fascists" are taking anything from you -- you're freely giving it up.

Pointing out the obvious....

I guess you didn't study the "Rat Test" in you psychology classes.

four males four female white lab rats seeded for test. Rats given optimum temperature, humidity, hours of "day" and "night" no hindrances, no predators and all the food and water they could.

Experiment recorded on time-lapse video.

Rat colony expands gradually, then the population explodes and then for some bizarre still as of yet unknown reason, population growth plateaus -- become zero and then turns into negative population growth.

Rats are observed exhibiting strange behaviors -- not mating, isolating. acting violent, forming "gangs" and attacking other rats -- as time goes on, the violence decreases but rats are continuously more isolated refusing to socialize with other rats, refusing to mate and even refusing to eat.

The experiment ended when the last rat died and the entire colony ceased to exist, and that was about 9 days after the population peaked and plateaued.

There's a documentary aired on PBS about 20 years (right at the height of the gang war hysteria in the US). The time-lapsed film footage of the rats is pretty powerful stuff to watch.

Then why do you keep making 435 mistakes every 2 years?

Okay, but are you prepared to live with the consequences of your actions?

The answer is a clear and resounding "No." You are all talk, and no action.

Let me explain how it works:

You, through your own personal actions and the actions of others tell the government that you want a certain life-style, quality of life and standard of living --- one that is infinitely superior to all other people on Earth and you want to paid handsomely to boot.....

....then having told your government what through your actions, your government sends troops overseas and drops fire on people so that you can have your certain life-style, quality of life and standard of living, and make 400x more in wages than other people on Earth.

Quite clearly you are an hypocrite.

Because you see, if you wanted to bring the troops home permanently, then you would tell your government that by saving 20% of your income, by getting rid of your credit cards, by demanding smaller homes, by living in apartments instead of homes, by owning only one or two cars, and by not purchasing a new car every two or three years, by cancelling your cable and internet, by not buying name brand clothing, by living a much simpler life-style.

See?

Reality bites...

Politicians have been compromising---- that's why you're in the mess you're in and you'll continue to be in this mess until he stop compromising.

You don't understand the situation. The compromise at this point is either slit your throat or slit your wrists.

To be successful, there are certain things that must be done, and there is no compromise. In fact, to compromise is to embrace defeat. And in spite of what you might think, sometimes there's only one right way or one best way to do something, in which case compromise is harmful and destructive, not beneficial.

Not compromising...

Yes, Sweden is a nation-State and nation-States historically lend themselves to fascism due to the fact that they have an huge homogenous population and typically 1 or 2 very small minorities who make up perhaps 3% to 8% of the population, and are easily labeled as scape-goats when things go wrong.

That is why all Euro nation-States were fascist at one time or another -- sometimes more than once.

Fascism is nearly impossible in an heterogeneous country.

I'm sure they have a plan like death camps or something.

Demographically....

Yes, they do live a good life, right up to the point they become alcoholics and then right up to the point they commit suicide.

Uh, the compromise was between dictatorship and presidency. Right? Some, like Hamilton wanted a powerful central government with a king -- just like Liberals want. Others wanted a weaker central government with limited powers, like conservatives want.

Looks like something you forgot.

Reminding....

I voted for 20th Century Soviet Union because Belarus, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia, Zimbabwe, Mali, Mozambique, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Greece, Equatorial Guinea and Syria were not options.

Voting...

1st Century AD Palestine was under control of the Romans. They had running water, sewage, security, public baths, sanitation, libraries, schools, education, peace and such --- right to the time about 100 christs started the Jewish Civil Wars in 66 CE.

Oh, yes, and they weren't on welfare either.

Archaeologically...
