The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, or Mormon church, is offended – and making it quite clear – by a new Bloomberg Businessweek cover on which is a satirical illustration of John the Baptist ordaining Mormon founder Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdery, one of the first LDS apostles, to the priesthood and commissioning them to build a diverse financial portfolio.
Although the lengthy story itself is done in all seriousness, the cover mocks the Mormon church's wealth, which includes a $2 billion megamall in Salt Lake City, an insurance business with assets worth $3.3 billion, and reportedly an agricultural company that owns some 1 million acres in the U.S.
Wow, Bloomberg slamming something for being successful? Isn't that what they are all about? With that the case that leaves one reason for this article.

Bigotry.
How about that? A religion built around Capitalism. I am surprised more right-wingers are not Mormon.
IMHO - The Mormons are Second Church of Mammon on Earth and all their wealth are the blessings of the Holy Writ to make More Money. The church was founded by a fraud followed by desperate fools. I think it is nothing more than a pagan conspiracy and should be subject to Federal investigation as a conspiratorial racket.
I know many smart people who truly feel that people give freely of themselves to their Church of choice, and the church is the one making money, besides the Moromon Church.
I do know a lot of people who feel that Religion and Churches, are nothing by fraud doings and desperate fools, to buy what they are selling, and that is their right.
I know some who feel the Catholic Church has to much power.
Nothing wrong with making money.
IMHO - I believe the Catholic Church was, as Jesus was, primarily concerned with saving souls from Hell by living peacefully and humbly and having faith in God. Sometime later, around 500 Ad or so, the Church leaders figured out they could acquire wealth by selling forgiveness for inheritances. That changed them from a legitimate Church to a very elaborate protection racket and a major land holder.
The Mammons started out that way as well as a being system of providing young women for old perverts. I am in awe of the way they use persuasion and delusion for profit.
Poor Harry Reid has been wounded by the shots taken at Romney.
