Yes,

Private FFs compensated by insurance companies would be ALOT cheaper than the govt employees doing the job now. Competition would create a market that would drive down costs

Do you have a cite for that proposition? The fact is if the insurance company came to the conclusion that it would be cheaper to allow a home to burn vs. putting out the fire based on distance to the location, that is what they would do.

The only insurance company that would be interested in putting out the home fire is the insurance company that insures that home. Like I said, if it was cheaper to let it burn then they would.

My insurance company isn't offering to fight a fire at my house. I'll have to rely on the public fire department, which is 7 miles away.

Of course...my house isn't worth a million dollars so it doesn't count, does it?
