Take note of what? What's your opinion here? I don't see any opinion. Also, what research have you done comparing the US to the majority of other first world countries where gays have been getting married for a long time?
In no country have "gays been getting married for a long time". The first country to give same-sex partnerships any legal recognition was Denmark in 1989; marriages as called such were not granted until 2001 in the Netherlands. Both these countries have populations that had abandoned many important values by the time they started recognizing same-sex marriages. The United States still has a formidable contingent of people with good traditional moral beliefs. I would hate to see us abandon it in exchange for the Lady Gaga version of "morals".
