Read post #3 again. If Obamacare is repealed, it would increase the federal deficit by $109 billion over the next decade.
Nice try... but actually the CBO said that with the way the Supreme Court just cut down parts of Obamacare (some of the Medicare extensions etc.), the large tax increases built into the rest will result in Obamacare taking in more money from taxpayers, than it spends.
And so the deficit will be reduced by some $84 billion over 11 years, even though government taxing and spending will be hugely increased as usual.
The liberals are desperately hawking the notion that it saves the *government* $84B... while hoping nobody notices that the American people will pay through the nose for it, on top of everything else they are already paying.
And when Obamacare is repealed next year, all that huge taxing and spending goes away... along with the extra $84B it managed to tax out of the American people without spending it.
If you have a problem with this huge savings, you need to take it up with the Republican governors who are opting out for their own political maneuvering.
Quote:
The report said the increased cost of subsidizing people sent to the state-based insurance exchanges because they can’t get expanded Medicaid coverage will be more than offset by the decrease in federal subsidies that will no longer be sent to states that opt out of expanding Medicaid coverage.

Just released. The CBO has carefully crunched numbers and found that the Obamacare will reduce the budget deficit by at least 84 billion dollars. This is very good news for Americans and Obama. Bad news for those who are bitter from too many sour grapes.
Read post #3 again. If Obamacare is repealed, it would increase the federal deficit by $109 billion over the next decade. Do you want that? There is a net difference of almost 200 million if we keep Obamacare. Do you think we can use the savings to help those 23 million?
BTW, thank you so much for your concern for the uninsured. I am so glad you right wingers are seeing the light.
I don't credit the soothsayers in the CBO with that much skill. How can they possibly predict what will transpire over two and a half presidential terms, five congressional and almost two senate terms?
When a congressional committee requests a study to be done by the CBO, they can only crunch the data that the congress gave it. Remember the double counting of that $500 billion taken from Medicare, for example. Even then, they do static scoring, not dynamic, they do not anticipate cause and effect. What happens if millions of people decide to opt out and pay the fine/penalty/tax thingy? What happens if over half the states and millions of employers opt out?

What are whining abut? Nothing is free. Can't you understand that things will level off eventually after the the bugs get lined out. Sure we will all pay some more but i would rather pay some more than see a parent die from no insurance than see how it affects the children's lives.
