I'm speaking mainly about the clerks and no one else.
They're rude
Gossipers they talk about every customer including me I bet
They are clock watchers. Slam the door shut on you face if u are 5 seconds late . I've even seen them lock the door 30 seconds to a minute before they were supposed to close.
Some work very slowly almost ad if its on purpose
I'm sick of the lazy culture in our government workers. They need to realize this is why they are failing entities. It's not the prefunding nonsense. They push away the best customers to lessen their workload. The clerks don't care if usps fails this needs to change. I propose forcing them to take ownership in the usps in the form of shares replacing part of their pension. Usps fails, guess what. You don't get a pension. Same way the uaw was forced to take shares in gm. Sick of the bs.

You need to visit the Elkins Park, PA post office. Fast, friendly as hell, and exceedingly helpful when it came to pointing me in the right direction during a recent passport renewal.
Now the Cheltenham Home Depot.... that's a whole different story.
The folks at my USPS office have a non stop line of people from opening until closing and get to all of them in a timely manner. So no, I don't think they are the laziest worst workers in the country.
Just out of curiousity though, what do YOU do for a living?
The ladies at my local post office are always willing to help me. They suggest ways for me to ship less expensively. They go out of their way to help track down lost packages for me.
My experience certainly does not mean they are all this way, but I certainly have no complaints about my local post office.
I have yet to meet a rude USPS employee BUT I have to go to the Post Office after work every Friday and about a month ago I walked into one of their locations and there was nobody to help me. All the counters were empty... And I heard the manager screaming at the workers in the back.. Swearing up a storm. It took them over 5 minutes to realize I was there.
Considering we pay a ridiculously low amount for stamps, I'd say they do fine.
