The same one(s) responsible if you get hit by a bus or a falling piano. Why is this situation any different from any other unforeseen event?
Unless, of course, they had asthma as a child, have PCOS, are overweight, have been to a psychiatrist, or have a history of cancer. Then they are lucky to get health insurance at all.
I was denied by most insurers when I was 22 and looking because I'm overweight, have PCOS, and had a history of autoimmune issues for the last 5 years that I would find out a few months later were symptoms of cancer. One company quoted me $600 a month for catastrophic coverage with a $5000 deductible. At 22. And that could have been pulled upon diagnosis with cancer because I had recorded missed symptoms of it for years.
Well... it is the same as car insurance, if you have a bad driving record, it will cost more.
AT SOME POINT Did you realize that you were overweight? Doing something about that is personal responsibility.
No idea what PCOS is, but it according to google is is quite common in women.
Cancer - that sucks, sorry to hear that. If you are cancer free for 5 years you can get good insurance rates. If you are currently fighting cancer, then well, they probably won't insure you.
A Sliding Scale payment plan with a local hospital sounds like it makes sense for you. Those are income based and available.
Here are two ideas.....1) Have a fund raiser as one person did for their friend. 2) Lefties have $40,000 to throw at Obama for a dinner, put your money where your mouth is and pay their bills.
No one can predict getting sick, getting into an accident or some other tragedy.
Lefties are always full of good intentions....but NEVER reach into their own pocket.
WOW...a tad on edge are we? Not everyone keeps up with the "current news" and no I don't think a lot of us knew that the hospitals were going to reduce their charges or not charge any of the victims for their care. WAIT..does that mean their bill will be $75K instead of $100K?? Donations around the world? Would you mind filling us in on that one? I have seen nothing about donations although I am SURE that there has to be some sort of fund started somewhere. Why so sarcastic about our government forcing people to help each other out? When did that ever happen? Hmmmm...seems to be that the government doles out all kinds of help to people in need..food stamps, Wick, health insurance, low income housing...not much arm twisting there. Give people a chance to get caught up on the "latest" without going off the handle about how uninformed we all are. Can't we all just get along???
Thank you. You have illustrated my point perfect fully. Pay for yourself. YOU are not MY responsibility. No. I don't care what happens to you. I don't care you can't afford your own healthcare. That is YOUR problem; not mine.
I wasn't put on this earth to take my money, to give to losers like you, who cannot and refuse too, take personal responsibility for yourself. That is your problem, not mine.
Who is responsible for paying your personal medical bills if you're a surviving victim of the mass shooting in Aurora, CO and are uninsured?
For all of you who make the "Take Responsibility for yourself argument" should you have 150K saved up in case you are victimized by a lunatic gunman at a movie theater? The perpetrator has no money and will spend the rest of his life in jail.
Who pays the bills?
If only there was a way to make sure everyone was insured against this type of thing...
Not only was the "act of violence" uncivilized...
what is more alarming is that:
United States is standing alone, Without "Single Payer Universal Health Care".
So, I guess the act would go along with that of being barbaric.
Come on America, Join the "rest of the civilized world", and yes that even includes:
Ethiopia, one of the poorest nations in the world, exceeds America in the most basic of right....
Single Payer Universal Health Care for It's Citizens
Sounds about right depending on what type of plan. What is the problem with that?
No problem any more it was just crazy expensive. It is much better now. Also in no way shape or form was my phone bill in any way similar to my Heath ins bill as the later was 18+ times more. In fact my only bigger expenses at the time were rent and tuition, I did not even spend anywhere close to 180 a month on groceries since I buy in bulk and am a good cook.
My insurance used to cost a whole heck lot more before Obamacare, now because of the 26 rule (I can just pay to get on my folks plan), and the 80/20 rule I save a fortune. I even got a check back from my old HC insurance because of Obamacare. It is great. In fact I don't think there is anything I don't like about Obamacare largely because since I already have personal responsibility and cover myself I am un-impacted by the mandate, and healthcare is cheaper now for me.
