No. I've been one myself.
But that doesn't mean I don't believe there are legitimate public policy arguments for reigning in their collective bargaining power. This does not equate to "hatred," something you may want to consider if you're interested in a serious policy discussion. But the way you frame the argument suggests you're more interested in soapboxing than an actual dialog.

There is no legitimate reason to support the GOP assault on public employees. Hatred drives it and I wanted to find out what the source was. I see it's envy, which I had read elsewhere, and the divide and conquer strategy worked well for their power grab. I look forward to Democratic victories in November.

Not surprisingly, I was right; you're not interested in a dialog; you just wanted a springboard from which to launch a tirade. The good news is, there's a forum just for that purpose called Politics and Other Controversies where the intellectual primates can fling partisan talking points and platitudes at each other like the rhetorical dung that they are. That forum was created so the rest of us wouldn't have to be subjected to the shrieking and the flying feces.
Here ya go, have a blast: http://www.city-data.com/forum/polit...controversies/

This section concerns Wisconsin. I was interested in why Wisconsinites (not you, apparently) who voted for the oligarchs wanted to hurt public employees and working people by supporting a politician who lied about his intentions and attacked his own employees when he got into office. Plus he was from the political party which caused the economic meltdown in the first place.
I got one response from a guy who said 'misery loves company' (meaning private sector workers had been laid off and he felt that public sector workers should be suffering too), a response from someone who has the same position and me, and your response which didn't say anything other than you think management and labour should not be on equal footing in negotiations.
I'm a public employee and I want to know why we were attacked by Wisconsin voters. The analysis I've found does not say much other than Barrett was outspent by a vast amount:
Dominance in rural areas ensured Walker's recall win - JSOnline
I wanted to know what various Wisconsinites thought (this section is about Wisconsin). I view America as a team. If management attacks their own team, I want to know why. I know all about ALEC and the Kochs etc. and why they attacked. I wanted to know why GOP voters are hostile towards me and my co-workers. There was no shrieking and flinging on my part, but obviously you are not interested in discussing the topic, so why did you answer? Unknown.

Maybe I need to talk a little slower for ya......"team spirit" means you share in the pain. It means you stay in the classroom, because that's your job. And nobody got stabbed in the back. It's called reality. Unions might want to look that up.
No fears. I would never be on the same softball team. I don't go for suck up players that think they should take the field, without doing the work, just 'cause they're special.

LOL. That's all you've got? No wonder Dems will go down in flames come November.
One.....more.....time......
THERE'S NO MORE MONEY.
In the real world, where unions can't go after taxpayers, under threat of punishment, for more money, you would be out of a job.

I'm going to start by saying I have never lived in a union state and honestly I don't know the in's and out's of how unions function, but I get the idea. That said, I have a question for artisan, and very sincerely, this is a serious question. No facetiousness is intended or implied. I don't live up there (yet) and as I've said, I have no experience with unions to draw from, so I have no personal opinion one way or the other on this. However:
Do you, artisan, feel that it is fair that you, as a public employee, can continue to get paid and get wage increases even if you aren't doing your job? As I understand it, when this all hit the fan, Wisconsin teachers went on strike, leaving their classrooms and students in the lurch. If anyone out here in a non-union state or non-union job would have done that, they wouldn't have gotten paid, let alone kept their jobs. Everyone else has to suffer the consequences of a bad economy, from pay cuts, to layoffs to pay freezes. Why should union employees be immune just because they're in a union, especially when there is no money for it?
Again, the question is meant sincerely, not facetiously, and maybe my question sounds foolish coming from no experience with unions, but I'm genuinely curious why you feel so strongly in favor of unions? From out here, they seem like a bad idea, but as I've admitted, I know little about them.
