Obama may have authorized operations in Syria by special forces and/or CIA, but he has NOT authorized "Covert Ops".

Good God in his sweet clean Heaven! What is wrong with people that they would TELL ANYONE ABOUT A COVERT OP?????

If you are not mad that the idiots running this country cant figure out that you dont TALK ABOUT COVERT OPS then please stay home come november.

the insane are running the idiot assylum.

I do support real covert ops in syria... something that now cannot happen.

WHY? It was Congress that voted to fund the Iraq War of Choice. If they didn't imagine some part of the Constitution gave the government power to police the world they shouldn't have voted to fund the police, eh?

Now we just wait for the UN to say "send in the drones".

We got NO answers about Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Chile, Granada, et al. What makes you think we'd get one now?

Or Libya to bring this to a more current time span.

Now that we set a precedent with "send in the drones" invading countries takes on a whole new meaning.

I don't understand the obsession with drones, the precedent was set long ago by invading countries whose business was none of ours. What difference do the nuts & bolts of the attack make other than putting fewer Americans in harm's way?

With no "boots on the ground" it's easier to accept. So they shoot down a drone..no life lost.
Once you've taken the human factor out of the equation from the aggressor side, war becomes more acceptable.

Do you really believe soldiers are trained to regard the enemy as 'human'?

A successfully trained soldier has had the human factor removed from war long before he reaches the combat zone.

And how is it any different than say a B-52 bombardier dropping the load from above a cloud deck or an artlllery unit firing into a grid spot miles away? Where is the human factor in those situations?

Default Reuters: Obama Signed Secret Order for Gov't Agencies to Support Removal of Syrian Leader

Obama authorized secret support for Syrian rebels

President Barack Obama has signed a secret order authorizing U.S. support for rebels seeking to depose Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and his government, sources familiar with the matter said.

Obama's order, approved earlier this year and known as an intelligence "finding," broadly permits the CIA and other U.S. agencies to provide support that could help the rebels oust Assad.

Will look up more on this...
