No. Of course they shouldn't. And neither should racists or other detestable people.
They can say whatever they like. What they can't do, in an intellectually honest way, is pretend to be surprised that other people find their views abhorrent and don't wish to associate with them.
Should the government legislate what Christians can say? Would you like to see preachrs charged with a hate crime if they say homosexuality is an abomination?
Should the rights of gay people be restricted to appease Christians?

Children who cannot keep their hands to themselves are demanding to be be restricted. If what they're calling religion has given itself permission to not keep their hands to themselves, they asked for the spanking. God said.
Since you're obviously for religious rights, you have no problem protecting the rights of all religions......even Muslims.
I would protect the RELIGIOUS rights of Muslims. I would NOT support many of their political or cultural rights which are inherent is Islam. Would be nice if Muslims countries would do the same for Christian and Jews, and/or other religions.
No, definitely not. Let's stop all this political correctness.
Are they currently being suppressed (by the government) from saying whatever they please? If not, there is nothing to stop in the first place! So your point is moot.
And yes, they should have the right to say these things, as they already do - but like a few other posters said, they also need to accept that consequences sometimes will result. I don't care what any church says about gays (or anyone else), as long as they're not violating anti-discrimination laws or suppressing OTHER people's rights in the process. Within their own walls they are protected by the freedoms of religion and speech, but outside of those walls only the latter will apply. Does that answer your question, OP?
