Looks like Americans think a change is in order.......hope has been flushed down the toilet.

Sunday, July 29, 2012

Hope for the future generation has reached an all-time low. Just 14% of Americans expect today’s children to be better off than their parents. The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 65% of American Adults do not expect today’s children to be better off than their parents. Twenty-one percent (21%) are not sure what to expect. (To see survey question wording, click here.)

The national survey of 1,000 Adults nationwide was conducted on July 22-23, 2012 by Rasmussen Reports. The margin of sampling error is +/- 3 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

That 14% is either hitting the crack pipe, related to Obama, or both.

Well 8 years of No Child Left Behind and 8 years worth of cuts to education and college funding while at the same time the cost of college has gone on the rise with no end in sight. Oh and remember every time you vote against education funding and cut those damn elitist teachers only reduces quality of education in this country.

No one person is ever going to fix this, if we ever want to fix our education system it will require from the ground up, which mean people like you and all Americans will need to start treating education like a gift that we all strive for rather than treating education like the enemy.

Until that happens, it is only going to get worse.

Time to look to the Millenials for answers. We are in fact the ones who are gonna be fixing this mess.

Yep, unfortunately.

This problem is so much bigger than Obama or any current politician on either side. A complete mindset change from the generations before us is in order.

What about this poll prompted a rant about education?

What's even worse is that the No Child Left Behind program was TED KENNEDY'S little baby that he and Bush worked TOGETHER to get done

And if I remember correctly, this type of polling never reflected such extreme pessimism when Bush was in office.

Well I never said Ted Kennedy was great with all his ideas, and No Child Left Behind was a program Bush put into place back when he was governor and it failed then, and it failed when he was in office.

If we don't properly invest in our future's education, companies will look less to our country for high paying jobs and will look elsewhere. Education is a huge factor when we talk about are we better off than our parents. After that it is about pay, and currently both are falling behind.

Unless we reduce entitlement spending, we are killing any prospects future generations have, but alas, we're too selfish to sacriifice for them. What would we be trying to do-imitate the Greatest Generation?

Which would be part of the reason Obama is now after for profit colleges? He can't control what they teach. If he has his way, the only thing taught will be praise of himself and his leftist agenda.
