I can't get over they're still using the swipe system predominantly in the U.S. with the chip insert still not implemented to any degree.

In many countries finger print scanners have replaced keys. Americans have never been early adopters of technology, except the military. The same way that GPS systems, cellphones and HDTVs were common consumer appliances in other countries a decade before they started to catch on in the US.

I don't like the idea of finger prints for ID purposes. Way too much chance for abuse IMO. We leave prints all over the place and they can be lifted and used for things like being framed for one thing. I like iris ID far better. There is far less chance of being compromised as it would be impossible to use against me in any way I can think. I feel the same way about DNA. I would refuse any request for a DNA sample and would not provide one unless ordered by the court to do so.
