It's not the Republicans that most Democrats are afraid of. No, it's the whirlwind of anti-intellectualism, fear, and hate that the far right currently embodies. Science and history have been under attack by those in the far right.
Can you back any of this up with some facts? How about some links to show that the "far right" (I assume you mean Christians) attack science and history? Pretty wild claim; in fact, it's downright laughable!
And, "anti-intellecturalism?" Please Some of the most intellectual thinking came from writers whom our founders drew their ideas of self government from. Ever hear of John Locke? Our founders themselves were intellectuals. Have you ever read our Constitution? Declaration of Independence? These were profoundly intellectual in the ideas they embodied. Ever read any of the Federalist Papers?

Please show where I compared them to Hitler or said they killed anyone (even though I am sure some hate crimes have been commited by some of the loyal listeners)? No one does my thinking for me or sets my standards, unlike yourself I am an Independent, but by all means if it works for you please continue to do so
For the record, I'm not a right-winger or left-winger, I'm more of a libertarian.
I don't get why people are so afraid of these people. Why does the media depict these people as badasses? To me they come across as being quite the opposite. Most of the people who I've dealt with who identify as being a right-winger aren't very intimidating as opponents. I don't get why the Obamarama crowd thinks Joe the Plumber and Sarah Palin are a serious threat; to be honest both sides come across as effeminate sissies. I just think it's comical, like something off Mad TV when I see them at rallies and such.

Bull! Nazis, and marxists, and Democrats, BTW, are all primarily authoritarain, rather than libertarian, in their orientation. They can't have their way via the free exchange of goods or ideas; therefore, they seek acces to the power of the state to force it on us.
It's that simple.

Right wingers only portray themselves as badasses in their own media like FOX News or try to associate action heroes like John Wayne. Willis, Eastwood and Arnold with being a right winger although their movies are generally just action movies neutral to politics.
Normal society shows right wingers to be buffoons, crooks and ignoramuses to be ignored. Look at Archie Bunker, Carlton Banks, Ned Flanders and the dad from American Dad. Most right wingers live in isolated areas where they never encounter diversity or different viewpoints so they end up willlfully ignorant and mentally stunted. Also most are over 40 so they come from a different generation when being a hateful bigot was way more accepted.
