I'm feeling great, in better shape, and more at peace. I'd highly recommend not watching TV and not reading newspapers. Read books only for a couple months w no TV. You'll be happier

Why? You choose books like you choose TV channels. You don't read what you don't want to read.

I won't be impressed until you share your reading list. There are a lot of crappy books out there as well as crappy TV shows. Plus you can get the same news exposure online complete with videos and commentary. Give up your computer. Now that would be impressive.
smittyj, You better watch it, some Jury Duty clerk will read this and off you will go....
Almost happened to me. I had been living in a tee pee 3 years....... Got the letter to go be Jury, but at the last second the court decided I was a tad jaded to law. I had just become divorced and it was not friendly.
I haven't had cable in 8 months, watch movies off Netflix and DVDs every now and then and read lots of books and magazines and feel a lot better. Being glued to the TV was a waste of time.

Personally, I think the nation would be much better and happier if more people turned off the tv and read more. I know I do that personally

There is a huge gray area between the two extremes of not watching TV and being glued to it, not taking one position doesn't mean you are all the way on the other.

Yeah yeah you are so deep and in the know with your ability to discern what is worthy of being a news source and what isn't, you sure are lucky to not be one of the sheeple and I'm sure all the sources of information you've chosen are completely unbiased accurate behind question. Can you possibly make a more predictably stale dismissive comment about others who you know nothing about?
Its my experience people who make comments like this are usually the most naive (see moon-gravity-retard) and do in fact follow the most blatantly biased information outlets.
