Japan and Germany are much more highly unionized than the US. What we have in place is a poor trade and tax policy.
I do believe you are correct.
Our problem is too much $$ going out and none coming in. It is time to make it more profitable for America and less for the rest of the world.
There are ways of doing it and tough choices to be made to achieve this. I don't think bleeding hearts that want to buy the world a coke would be willing to basically flip off the other nations of the world for the betterment of ourselves.

If you want a true gauge, you need equal representation from each side.
Considering the solidarity of the RW congressional opposition I say he is doing very well. If he and a Democratic veto proof Congress he would have been great. If nothing else he has forced our Military to get out of Iraq and work on getting out of Afghanistan. At least he has managed not to let the military go to war with Iran. I rate his Presidency as OK and am working to reelect him.
He did not "force" our military out of Iraq. There was a withdrawal date and an agreement in place set between Iraq and the Bush administration. The initial agreement was to leave troops behind, but Iraq did not want to give them immunity, so it ended up as a full withdrawal with the exception of about 200 troops to protect the US embassy. The withdrawal came one year after the agreement between Bush and Iraq.
As for Afghanistan, he promised troop withdrawal in 2011. We are 6 months away from 2013 and he hasn't given any indication of when there will be full withdrawal.
As for Iran, do you have any idea of the ramifications that would result from the US going into Iran?
You forget to mention how he killed bin Laden. Yup, proud moment for him when he took credit for that deed. He got no help there did he???

I would also like to reform our economy from a continuous wartime military economy to one based on domestic production and infrastructure repair and enhancement.
Do you realize what you are saying? Obama has become Mr Drone Dropper and is creating enemies.
Without a strong military it leaves the US vulnerable to the enemies it has made. Do some research and you will find out that the US military defense was totally unprepared for Japan - untrained men and outdated equipment.
As much as military defense is an evil, the US has put itself in the position to maintain that defense. We would still need it even if the US stopped meddling in the government affairs of other countries (most recently China). Some countries have long memories. Today an ally, tomorrow an enemy.
You will not be able to sustain an empire with a liberal mind set- Empires are like high end mafia organizations. They are a family affair. To maintain power, loyalty and allowing the best to do the job is prime. The liberal mentality is to chant the mantra that we are all equal...and one is as capable as the other- Yes- all men were created equal but they do not stay that way. In an artificial liberal atmosphere that defies nature and pushes the mediocre to the top of the heap..Does not make for real or effective leadership. We assume if a man or woman manage to attain the chair of the Presidency that they must be the best we have and are superior too the average person..
President Obama was elected through mindless liberality...a force that was intent on showing the world and the nation..that even the entitled weak could rise to a position of dominance- Personally I will bow to a king that is my superior..one who is wiser- more intelligent - more principled...stronger..It is perverse liberality that commands the strong to submit to the weak...it is simply un-natural. America is in the position of adopting submission as the norm. Much like Islam (submission to God) - that is in error...They say that you must submit to God- but what they are saying is that you must submit to the collective.
God is All Mighty and does not expect or need human submission- why would this all powerful force and intelligence need common germs to bow in submission? Obama is destroying America - that once thrived on defiance and individuality...and expects the strong to submit to him...a little boy with big ears who's only power was to move the liberal heart with his skin tone.
If mostly Republicans are using C-D's politics forums, then obviously polls like this one will always lean their way ... which essentially makes polls like this completely worthless!
Lol. One of the few setbacks of the internet. Stupid people with bad ideas get together with other stupid people with bad ideas and they think that actually brings validation to their bad ideas.
After the economic crash of 2008, we needed bold leadership to get us through the hard times and to regain our footing . Instead, we all we got was a walking, talking fraud of epic proportions.
