This is one of the saddest threads I've seen on C-D. Such vitriol for someone based solely on where they live?? While I may not choose to currently live in the North or West, I have been to those places and/or lived in those places. I have found warm, friendly, and genuine people in each of those locations. I do not begrudge how other states want to live their lives as I hope they do not begrudge us the way we want to live our lives.

Here is what I suggest. If you have not been to the South, please visit us. You will find a warm and welcoming people that are proud of their homes, their states, and their country. Oh and fyi...Charleston has been voted, consistently, the friendliest place in the nation (oh and most beautiful people!). Just have to give a shout out to my fair city!

The hypocrites on here do not make up the majority. They just have their panties in a wad over not being able to accept different "lifestyles"? I'm pretty sure we're all pretty much the same, but, they can think what they want.

So here's a poll. Discuss.
Okay but if he wants to visit a warm state on vacation or have that second home in a low tax state, he better have a visa and be willing to get microchipped so we can track him down and put his azz in jail if he overstays his visa.

While few of us on this forum would oppose helping those who are aged, infirmed, or otherwise unable to care for themselves. I, like many conservatives, feel that the welfare programs have been misused and mismanaged by the federal government.

Mr clinton along with support from the republican led congress led an effort to reform the system and encourage able bodied adults to seek employment. This effort was considered by many to be a success. It certainly lowered the number of those on the welfare rolls. It "appears" that effort to reform the system is being dismantled by the present democratic administration.

If you are an american liberal your problem wouldn't necessarily be with "red states." It would be with the very democratic administration "you" helped put into office, not those conservatives who predominate in the "red states."

I've always felt we should require passports and shots before visiting california and passports and quotas on californians who attempt to immigrate into red states such as mine.
