I agree. With stupid posts like these it only sets the stage for stupid posts regarding Democrats committing crimes...the ball is always in someones court. I, in my heart, do not believe democrats support criminals, so why must a goof make the case against the republicans and throwing them all in one basket?

GOP activist, means he's a contributor to the republican party and a fundraiser.

Why is this news? He's not in the GOP leadership.

He's an average Joe.

Really an average Joe?

"According to the Tribune, Peterson has held an annual Rocky Mountain Conservatives Convention and BBQ for the past few years at the cabin where two of the incidents allegedly took place.

Utah political blogger Michael Jolley reports that the 2011 event was well-attended by political luminaries from around the Beehive State. GOP Rep. Jason Chaffetz, GOP Sens. Orrin Hatch and Mike Lee, as well Republican Gov. Gary Herbert all made speeches at the gathering."

Wow, on this i have got to agree with you, whether this be a democrat or a scumbag republician, these actions are wrong, and awful to commprehend.

But these are not the actions of the whole party.

Your right posts as these and statments, only make this for a tit for tat scenerio, and so goes on and on.

In this case, this guy, is a scumbag of the worse kind.

This. You can be a scumbag no matter what your politics are.

John Wayne Gacy was active in Chicago area politics. There are photos of him out there with prominent Dems. It seems likely that any heinous criminal who wished to build political connections would probably go with whichever party happens to be most powerful. In Utah, that's the R's, and in Chicago it's the D's.

The attempts to play up political affiliation is the oldest trick in the book. I guess it makes people feel clever but to me it's more of a self-admission of a certain comfort with the use of illogic and magical thinking.

True. But you have to have political connections in order to find out private information on people and have the police allegedly intimidate a victim.

Honestly people, political corruption only exists in Chicago and D.C.?

"Talking Points Memo dug into Peterson's Facebook page and discovered that his profile picture features him standing beside presumptive GOP presidential nominee Mitt Romney. Another of Peterson's photos displays an invitation to a Romney fundraiser that he co-chaired back during the Republican's 2008 campaign for president.

"News that a Utah Republican activist is accused of raping four women — two of whom say they were taken to the Heber cabin where the man hosted major political events — caused ripples of unease Thursday throughout the GOP."

How did he find out that the woman was here illegally? Why did the police try to keep one of the women from filing a report? Are you suggesting that any of us could find out the status of someone here illegally? Would the police in a heavily Republican state have done the same for a Democrat?
Wow. You really like to reach for things. Most of these women met him through a dating site. They all met him for one or more dates. The article merely says he claimed to be a powerful politician. It doesn't even say the woman was illegal. It says he threatened to have her deported. As for the police - I don't know much about Utah police. The police department says they would never tell a victim to delay reporting. What is the truth?

The guy is scum. It has nothing to do with his political leanings.
