Actually, I prefer green chilis... but the famous phrase "better red than dead" plays on Obama's perceived communist leanings.

The further explain, the original phrase was "better dead than red." Better dead than red - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Later, during the cold war, leftists usurped and inverted the original to "better red than dead" [ie, better communist than dying in a nuclear holocaust.]
