Please, please tell me this is a joke. You're being sarcastic right?

If not, then that is absolutely disgusting and you make me sick. How could you say something like that? Talk about mind-boggling. For someone who seemingly is a Christian, that's about the most un-Christian thing that I've ever heard. Oh, the hypocrisy. It's just unbelievable......

The dollar will be worthless before Medicare goes broke anyway...

Neither one of these clowns proposes to actually stop deficit spending much less balance the budget or (shudder) pay down the debt...

According to the New Ryan, people on Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid today will be protected from his changes. That's a given because no politician wants to pizz off the old people.

What's left unsaid is that his proposals will leave those older folks children and grandchildren without the same retirement protections. In other words, the GOP is asking we old folks to vote for our own selfish interests and give the finger to our offspring.

The offer is, "Take YOURS, old guy, but *****your grandkids."

No thanks.

When you equate socialism with fascism, you've shown just how little you really know.

However, be that as it may, are you comfortable with your kids and grandkids having no protection in their old age? Will you be content to go to your grave knowing that they too will someday need long term care, but might not be able to afford it? Are you willing to consign them to the trash dump in their old age if they don't have plenty of money, because that's what you're being asked to support.

I guess the question is just how much do you love your kids and grandkids? Enough to vote for THEIR interests, rather than your own?

You don't suppose the theory behind this is that those already there do not have the time or ability to make what would be necessary adjustments but the 'grandkids' do?

Socialism and Fascism are essentially the the same thing as far as Im concerned but I digress...

Were on The road to Serfdom as it is and we need some serious reform in government, Id like them to live in a world the government works for them, and they dont work for the government...

Id wouldn't get the Medicare under Ryans plan that you know but I have no faith in the system holding together that long anyway... Even If I did think it would Id like to have the option to opt out...

This is all smoke and mirrors, it's irrelevant because of the mandate..errrrr tax. The only people these provisions benefit will be the initial wave of people seeking insurance..... if the law works as intended and everyone goes out and gets insurance.

No. I think it's pure pandering to the selfishness of old people.

In any case, suppose you're right and it is based upon what you suggest. What happens if they're not able to make "adjustments?" What happens if life itself does not change and things come up with derail all their plans? It happens to people and will continue to happen. There are no guarantees about the future and our grandkids will be just as subject to the vagaries of chance and things beyond their control as we are. Where will that leave them? Dying on the street because they can't afford healthcare or a rest home in their old age?

Take R&R's ideas about privatizing Social Security, for instance. So, our kids and grandkids opt to put their retirement funds into the stock market and reject SS as we know it now. Then, the economy retracts or collapses just before they retire and they lose all that "money" they've laid up. What happens then? Without SS or Medicare or Medicaid, they're pretty much screwed.

Good grief. The left-wing MSM's talking points are far from gospel, yet several of you are regurgitating them as if they were.

How about educating yourselves a bit before making ridiculous claims and statements, by going directly to the sources? You can start by reading here, here and here. If you get through those and want to know precisely what's in Ryan's plan, try reading it.
