Indoctrinate, maybe, scare them into not being honest with you or with themselves about who and/or what they are or what they really believe, maybe, but teach?

The word "teach," to me, implies something positive and healthy; what you are suggesting is something sinister and evil.

And, no, I would not like it.

I have five sons and I "taught" them to think for themselves.

Are they "like me?" Apart from the obvious gender difference, no, they are not like me. They are also not like each other. They are five individual persons with their own beliefs and thoughts, and while we share some of those beliefs and thoughts, we do have differences.

And that is a good thing.

I can't imagine a world where each generation is just a repeat of the one before.
