Today, my two daughters and I will be dropping off a plate of Christmas cookies at the local police department as a "Thank You" for doing what they do.
Right now, the media is making the police the enemy and I'm fed up with it. The officers need to know they're appreciated by the 99% of the public who aren't criminals.

That is very nice.
I am not much of a baker.........I think I will take a box of candy.
That is a great idea just be sure not to use your cookie cutter that is shaped like a gun... Sorry I couldn't resist.
The majority of Police are good people doing a tough job that most of us couldn't handle so it is very nice of you and your kids to be thanking them.
Kids need to learn that the Police are there to help them unless of course they are doing something dangerous that might hurt themselves or others.
It's nice to see a positive police post here.
Merry Christmas

Sorry for stealing your idea.
Please...no apologies, I hope everyone steals the idea and does something nice for these guys/ladies who literally, put their lives on the line every day for us.
(if you're near a military base or armed forces center, I'm sure they'd appreciate it as well).

Actually just by being around a tax collector...er uh cop, a citizen puts their own life on the line.
If anything, Cops put their lives on the line collecting Caesars tribute, they don't care about your safety.
I like the idea, but with the attitudes people have toward police right now, your thoughtful gift will probably most likely end up in the trash, as they don't know you from Adam and they don't know what your intentions are. A pre-packaged treat, such as a box of candy or something, would probably be a better alternative.
