So just being born in a family by chance gives you the right to get free money? I fail to see the difference between that and welfare other than ones own perspective.
I'll tell you this, if I have accumulated wealth or assets when I pass on, I want my son to have it! I certainly don't want the government getting their grubby paws on it to distribute it as to how they see fit!
I have have never heard a liberal say that either and this liberal just spent a lot of money on a lawyer to make sure my family gets their inheritances when I'm gone.
Inheriting money is un-American IMO. But you won't hear the rich pukes who scream about welfare and unions admit that they were given free money off someone else's work.
How is it un-American? Are you against property rights?
Liberals tend to favor higher estate taxes, but I've never met one that advocates estate confiscation. That would be a totalitarian policy, not a liberal one.
I am in favor of inheritance tax. Since it is actual income, especially income that the recipient did not earn but inherited, I think it should be 50% for anything over 3 million with the exception of small business.

John D. Rockefeller Jr. donated both money and land he inherited for the some of our most beautiful national parks including the Grand Teton NP, the Great Smokey Mountain NP and Yosemite. The Rockefeller family has donated inherited money for generations to buy, improve and maintain our national parks.
Before you get all huffy and jealous stop and think about how you benefit from it. Because if you've been to Arcadia NP or the Virgin Island NP you can thank Rockefeller inheritance money. They also started the National Park Foundation.
Just my opinion, but I think it should be zero for less than 3 million. I don't think there is currently a tax for anything under 1.5 million, but I believe the States can impose their own tax.

Not this liberal....Why should there be tax on money on which tax has already been paid?
