With this move - and with its insistence on increasing military spending - the GOP is now assured of winning the election. I'm sure the middle class who look forward to getting tax refunds for having mortgages while they send their kids off to fight and die in foreign lands will be so thrilled to vote Republican.

Another well thought out move by the Republicans.

Misleading title. They did not clarify their position either way, just leaving room for Romneys plan on closing tax loopholes. Truth is a lot more important than trying to score cheap points with forum posters.

Well if you read the article and the followup links, neither party has come up with specifics.
It was the Bloomberg author that said eliminate mortgage interest deductions was in Romney's plan yet there are no details on Romeny's plan. There are no details on Obama's plan either.

People..reading comprehension is FUNDAMENTAL. Understand what you read please.

Thank God the republicans don't have the brains to point the gun away from their foot before they pull the trigger.

You people are sad, sad, sad. Tell me, where does it say they are dumping it? Is this what you guys are using as proof?

In truth you are absolutely correct. Neither side will get specific. It's been said that the best campaign is the most vague campaign. Politicians who get specific become targets.

From your own damn article.
Obama has refused to come out with specifics as well. Tit for tat here.

Neither one is going to address any specifics at the cost of losing votes.
Both sides are playing this game my friend.

Both Congress and the President showed a total bipartisan unified front when they ran away from the results of the Simpson-Bowles recommendations which included major tax overhaul and removing individual deductions.
