Despite the availability of abundant renewable energy sources in Armenia (especially hydroelectric and wind power)
the Armenian Government is working toward building a new Nuclear Power Plant at Medzamor near Yerevan.
wiki
I don't like it ether... nuclear power plants are dirty nuclear time bombs.
It was the US-backed Shah of Iran who began building the US-approved Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran.
After Iran's Islamic revolution, building on Bushehr was stopped because nuclear power was considered to be "unIslamic."
And, rightfully so, because nuclear power... in peacetime or in war... is evil and destructive to God's earth.
Later... Iran changed its mind and finished building Bushehr... Islam seems to be keeping up with modern perverted times.
.
Ironically, the chief of Russia's nuclear agency that finished Bushehr for Iran is a jew.
The Russian 'base' at Tartus is a single pier and some barracks. At the pier is a Russian repair ship which can provide some minor services to Russian ships which dock at the pier. The total Russian contingent is less than 250 sailors, most of them based on the repair ship, with a few dozen housed in the barracks.
That's it. That's the vaunted Russian presence so often referenced. People read 'Russian base' and they picture grandiose images like Norfolk, San Diego or Pearl.
It's a pier and barracks. That's it.
Of course the Russians will bail if the West attacks Syria. What did you think they would do, muster the machinists and quartermasters to futilely shake their fists at F-18s and cruise missiles?
