"As the 2012 presidential candidates prepare their closing arguments to America’s middle class, they are courting a group that has endured a lost decade for economic well-being. Since 2000, the middle class has shrunk in size, fallen backward in income and wealth, and shed some—but by no means all—of its
characteristic faith in the future."

And what's more -- they continue to export jobs and import cheap labor. Everything that was done to destroy the middle class is still being done. That's why Obama expanded NAFTA and is promising all great things for anyone who gets here illegally. It's all about ever cheaper labor.

Blacks and Hispanics being more upbeat about the future doesn't surprise me.

Just how whites think they are being marginalized because a black President was elected.

Blacks think everything is cool, because a black is in office.

Neither group knows enough to understand Obama hasn't done anything for blacks, and everything to preserve the status quo.

The GOP has greased the skids to make it more easier to export jobs. They are the ones stopping the IRS from reforming the tax rules to curb this process. Also, the GOP is anti-union. And your GOP corporations love cheap labor.

So you don't know what you are talking about.

Most everything is because of the GOP. The offshoring went into insanity mode under W. Obama and the dems have tried to stop it, but the GOP thugs blocked every attempt.
Obama has been deporting more illegals like never before, but it's little help when you have big corporation right wing goons like Perry leaving the door wide open.

The middle class is being destroyed all in the name of more profits for the elitists. Until the GOP thugs are voted out of office, there will be little hope to save the middle class.

It's almost comical you need to explain to these people that voting for the left candidate is almost always a better choice if you want pro worker, pro jobs, pro middle class policies.

It's at tribute to right wing propaganda, that anyone in their right mind would think the GOP is the better choice.

These know-nothings are are rambling on about NAFTA as if the GOP didn't love it.

This really goes back 3 decades but the last decade has been the worst for the middle class, the race to the bottom using economies such as China where they have cheap labor and poor working conditions.

There is a small minority of Congress that consistently votes pro worker, pro middle class, pro jobs.

The only ones willing to stick their necks out against our corporate owned political system.

It's the liberals ( not establishment Dems) , and the black caucus.

That's why they are smeared and mocked by the powers that run this country.

Exactly, and that's what hard right wing GOP fiscal policies create. The middle class becoming the poor and the rich becoming the stupid rich.
