looks like the court realized GOP tactics was all about suppressing the minority vote and elderly. Now we need this to happen in the other affected states.
"A federal appeals court in Washington has struck down the Texas voter ID law which required photos for voters at the polls, saying the law amounts to racial discrimination"
For the states where the laws haven't been struck down, they need to temporarily block the laws until a final decision is made.
The GOP realizes the black vote is crucial for Obama's re-election. This is why republican controlled legislative around the country are reducing the amount of time and days people can early vote. This is why the GOP in Florida voted to reduce how many organizations can register people to vote but that was struck down as well.
This could turn out to be a domino effect. The federal courts could strike down the laws in all the states.
Isn't it funny how FOX News makes this a small headline that's hard to find on its website?
I think republicans are also worried about Hispanics which is a group who supports democrats. Immigration is a hot button issue this year and Texas borders Mexico. There are also more minorities in Texas than whites. Traditionally Texas had been a red state but changing demographic could change that like it did in southern states like Virginia and North Carolina which have become purple states. The GOP can't afford to lose Texas. That would be like the democrats losing California.
Good to see the federal courts are doing their job stomping out racist moves in our states. I hope the latinos come out in full force to vote, regardless who they vote for.
