female texter: "Guess who has the 2 biggest of their loans paid off? That's right, me and [name]! It feels great =)

me: "That is so super fantastic!! Wah? No government bailout?

female texter: "Haha!! Na, just hard work and living below our income to pay off loans. Who knew!?"

me: "Would I have permission to post your texts on the Internet?"

female texter: "Fine with me."

me: "OK, thanks."

When you don't rely on others, and instead rely on and believe in yourself, there is hope.

Hope, for real Americans. Restore your faith in yourself. Restore America.

I know of another couple who just paid off their student loans a few years ago... A very famous political couple. They currently live in a big white house.

There isn't a government bailout on student loans. They can't even be discharged in bankruptcy. Yey, for your friend for doing the basics.

There are deferments and other government-supported rules that surround loans.

You know, I find it amazing that it is noteworthy when somebody lives below their income level. That, to me, is a very sad commentary on our society.

Of course you live below your income level so that you can cope with unforeseen circumstances; so that you have a safety net, etc.
